Unvorstellbare 245 Kilometer von Athen nach Sparta - der legendäre Spartathon. Ein Ultralauf der Extraklasse. UND: unser Manni war dabei.
Spartathlon is the event that brings this deed to attention today by drawing a legend out of the depths of history. The idea for its creation is belongs to John Foden, a British RAF Wing Commander. As a lover of Greece and student of ancient Greek history, Foden stopped his reading of Herodotus' narration regarding Pheidippides, puzzled and wondering if a modern man could cover the distance from Athens to Sparta, i.e. 250 kms, within 36 hours.
Zeitlglieich wurde von Jörg eine Challange "LuT gegen Manni" ins Leben gerufen, um Manni etwas zu unterstützen. Alle LuTler waren aufgefordert, während des Rennens ebenfalls zu laufen und dann "virtuell" gegen (oder besser mit) Manni Kilometer zu sammeln. Was soll ich sagen - unser WhattsApp Kanal glühte!!! Die LuTler kamen auf 396 km und somit musste Manni keinen einzigen Kilometer alleine laufen ;-)
Einen RIESEN-GLÜCKWUNSCH an Manni, der die Strecke in 35:00:03 Stunden bewältigte.
